Text

Points are collinear, if the area of the triangle formed by them is zero.

So, for points (-3,-5), (-5,-6) and (m,-4), the area of triangle is to be zero.

i.e.,         $\frac {1}{2}\left | -3(-6+4)-5(-4+5)+m(-5+6) \right |=0$

i.e.,       $\left | 6-5+m \right |=0$

$\Rightarrow \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: m=-1$
