We have,

frac{Dia. of the sun}{Dia . of the earth }=frac{1.4times10^9}{1.275times10^7}=frac{1.4times10^2times10^7}{1.275times10^7}

                                    = frac{1.4}{1.275}times100=frac{1.4}{1.3}times100=100

So, the diameter of the sun is about 100 times the diameter of the Earth.
