Identity Property of Rational Numbers: Some important properties that should be remembered are:

Additive identity: Zero is the additive identity for Rational, natural, whole numbers and integers, since adding it to them does not change the result.

  • 13 + 0 = 13
  • large frac{-5}{6} + 0 = large frac{-5}{6}

Hence, 0 + a = a + 0 = a, where a can be rational number or natural number or whole number or integer.

Multiplicative identity: One is the additive identity for Rational, natural, whole numbers and integers, since multiplying it to them does not change the result.

  • 3 x 1 = 3
  • large frac{-4}{7} x 1 = large frac{-4}{7}

Hence, 1x a = ax1 = a, where a can be rational number or natural number or whole number of integer.

STUDENT FEEDBACK - Sharandeep Singh C/o ABHYAS Academy
 7th
When I have not joined Abhyas Academy, my skills of solving maths problems were not clear. But, after joining it, my skills have been developed and my concepts of science and SST are very well. I also came to know about other subjects such as vedic maths and reasoning.
