Mechanism of Digestion of food

The food we eat contains various components like fats, carbohydrates, proteins etc. Various are type steps involved in digestion of these nutrients:

  • Ingestion: It is the process of  intake of food by mouth. Food is moistened by ‘saliva’, before swallowing, masticated by teeth to smaller particles.
