Concept Explanation

General Term Of an AP

If the given A.P. is a, ,a+d, ,a+2d, .... then its small n^{th}nth term is given by

small a_{n}=a_{1}+(n-1)d

For example:small n^{th}

The first term of an A.P. is 10 and common difference is 5, then the expression for its general term.

small a_{n}=10+(n-1)5

small a_n=10+5n-5

small a_n=5n+5
