Chord and Segment of a Circle

Chord of a circle:

A line segment joining the two points of a circle is called Chord of a circle.

Segment of a Circle:

The part of the circular region bounded by the chord and the circle is called a segment to the circle. The two segment corresponds to two arcs to the circle.

Minor segment:

The segment containing the minor arc is called minor segment.

Major segment:

The segment containing the major arc is called major segment.

Alternate Segments of a Circle:

The major and minor segment of a circle are called the alternate segment of a circle.
