Plasma

Plasma: Plasma is a straw coloured fluid connective tissue in which the RBC’s, WBC’s and platelets float. It  mainly consists of 92% of water and 8% of  dissolved substances such as plasma proteins, food substances (amino acids, glucose, fats), nitrogenous compounds and ions like sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium and phosphorus etc.

Plasma + Blood corpuscles = Blood

Function:-

It helps in transport of blood cells and other substances around the body.

It helps in maintenance of body temperature.

It also perform the function of maintaining ideal balance of pH and electrolyte in blood and tissues of the body.
