Solar Water Heater

Solar Water Heater:

Solar energy can be used to heat water. In a solar water heater, sunlight is allowed to fall a box made of a poor conductor of heat.

The glass top of the box lets in sunlight and traps heat. Water enters a tube that is painted black to increase the absorption of heat. It is bent several times to increase its length inside the box. This allows the water flowing through it sufficient time to absorb heat. Hot water collects in the tank of the heater for use.
