Adding Using Number Line Sum Less Than 8
Number Line:
A horizontal line that has divisions marked at equal intervals. The marking on a scale represent number line.Steps to find sum of two numbers using number line:
To find the sum of two numbers using a number line we will follow the following steps
1. We will draw an arc covering the number of divisions equal to the first number.
2. Then from the ending point of the first arc we will draw an arc covering the number of divisions equal to the second number.
3. The end point of the second arc shows the sum of two numbers.
In the figure below shows the sum of 3 + 2 on a number line
So we can say that
3 divisions and 2 divisions is equal to 5 divisions.
