Column Addition Without Carry
Addition of numbers can be performed by placing the numbers in column form one below the other.
Let us perform the following addition
24 + 21 = ?
We will place the numbers such that the tens digit is below tens column and ones digit below ones column as shown below
We will first add the digits at ones place that is 4, 1 and the result will be 5 which will be placed in the ones column of the answer
Then we will add the digits at tens place that is 2, 2 and the result will be 4 which will be placed in the tens column of the answer
As shown in the figure below
The final result will be 45
