Solubility : Solubility is a property reffering to the ability for a given substance, the solute, to dissolve in the solvent.
On the basis of solubility, materials can be soluble, insoluble, miscible or immiscible. Solid materials that dissolve in the water are said to be souble in water. For eg :common salt and sugar. Solid material that do not dissolve in the water are called insoluble in water. For eg :sand. wood. stone and chalk etc.
Liquids that dissolve in wtaer are siad to be miscible in water.For eg : alcohol, vinegar,lemon and honey. Liquid that do not dissolve in the water are said to be immiscible in water.For eg;: kerosene, coconut oil.
Some gases dissolve in water like carbon dioxide in soft drinks and oxygen in water.Plants and animals living in water breathe oxygen dissolved in water for photosynthesis. Some gases, such as nitrogen, are however not soluble in water.
