Division of Fractions

Division of fraction:

We have seen how to divide two fractions.

  • While dividing a whole number by a fraction, we multiply the whole number with the reciprocal of that fraction. tiny for;example:; 2div frac{3}{5}=2*frac{5}{3}=frac{10}{3}
  • While dividing a fraction by a whole number we multiply the fraction by the reciprocal of the whole number.tiny for;example:; frac{2}{3}div 7=frac{2}{3}*frac{1}{7}=frac{2}{21}
  • While dividing one fraction by another fraction, we multiply the first fraction by the reciprocal of the other. So,tiny ;for;example:; frac{2}{3}div frac{5}{7}=frac{2}{3}*frac{7}{5}=frac{14}{15}
