Motion is Relative

Motion is relative term. We define motion of an object with respect to another object. For Example. The persons sitting in a moving bus are at rest with respect to one another, but are in motion with respect to a person standing along the road side.

For e. g : An electric pole appears to be at rest or stationary, when we observe it by standing on the road but the same pole appears to be moving, when we observe it from a running train.
