Combine Harvester
Modern farming involves use of a machine; called combine harvester. This machine harvests, threshes and winnows in a single operation. Combine harvesters are used in developed countries; like the USA. In India, such machines can be seen in the farms of Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
Construction :-
The combined harvester has a wide header at the front which gathers the crop into the combine. A reet within the header moves the crop towards the cutter bar where it is sliced at the base. The grain is then moved up the conveyor to the threshing drums where they are separated from the stalks.
