Poor nutrition in adolescence can have adverse health consequences in adulthood. Obesity and excessive fat intake increase the likelihood of being an overweight adult and puts the individual at risk for cardiovascular diseases and other health problems. Calcium and iron are both needed for growth. Vitamin D, which is needed to enable the body to absorb calcium, is often deficient if the diet contains no milk. Once a girl has started menstruating, her need for iron increases.
During adolescence, there is rapid mental and physical growth. The physical and mental well being of an individual is regarded as an individuals health. Therefore for proper individual health, every human being needs -

(ii) To observe personal hygiene and cleanliness regularly

Personal hygiene and regular exercise :
It involves proper cleanliness, regular exercise, proper rest or sleep. With the onset of puberty there occur different changes in the body . During this period sweat glands become more active and hair starts growing in the armpit and pubic region of the body. So , in this case bathing , washing and ironing clothes become very important . Regular exercise and playing outdoor games also help in the proper growth of the body of teenagers.
Say No to Drug:
Adolescents are advised not to feel confused or insecure. You are just passing through a period of much activity in the body and mind, which is a normal part of growing up. So if anybody suggests that you will get relief by taking some drugs just say No to them. Drugs are actually addictive and once taken, there is a tendency to take them again and again.
