Description

Figure
Rectangle 2(Length + Breadth) Length and breadth are the dimensions of rectangle
Square 4x Let x be the side of square
Triangle a + b + c a, b and c being the side lengths of triangle
Parallelogram 2(Base + Height) Base and Corresponding Height are the dimensions of rectangle
Rhombus 4x Let x be the side of rhombus
Kite 2x + 2y x = length of one pair, y = length of second pair

Illustration: .Calculate the perimeter of a square with each side measuring 5 units.

Solution: given side length of square = 5 units

now we know that perimeter of a square = 4 X side

                                                                   = 4 X 5

                                                                   = 20 units

Illustration : .Calculate the perimeter of a triangle with each side measuring 4 cm

Solution: given sides of triangle are 4cm,4cm,4cm

Now we know that perimeter of a triangle with sides a,b,c = a+b+c

thus perimeter of given triangle = 4+4+4

                                                 = 12 cm
