Concept Explanation

Beans And Maize Seed

A seed is an embroyonic plant enclosed in a protective outer covering. The formation of the seed is part of the process of reproduction in seed plants, the spermatophytes, including the gymnosperm and angiosperm plants. In case of angiospermic plants seeds can be classified in to two types based on the number of cotyledons :- Monocotyledon and Dicotyledon. We can learn about the differences between the two type of angiospermic plants with the help of examples like beans and maize seeds.
