Displacement in the direction of Force

Displacement in the direction of the force: Dispalcement is difined as the change in the positon of the object. It is a vector quantity therefore it has both magnitude and direction. If the displacement of an object is in the direction of the force applied on it, the amount of the work done by the force on this object is obtained by multiplying the force and the displacement.The work done by such force is always positive.

Work done  in the direction of of force  =   Force x displacement  =   F x s

Examples: 

1. When a horse pulls a cart , the applied force and the displacement are in the same direction.

2. While kicking a football the displacement occur in  the  direction of force .

3. When a body is fallling down from somr height  the direction of force and the displacement are in the same direction.
