The Hot Weather Season (Summer):

The hot weather season starts with the apparent movement of the sun towards the North. It leads to the Northward movement of global heat belt. The hot weather season starts in March and lasts upto the end of May.

  • This season remains from March to mid June At this time, the sun remains in Uttarayan and an increase in temperature is seen.
  • On March 21, the sun shines directly on the equator, on June 23, on the Tropic of Cancer.
  • In north - western India in the states of Rajasthan, Punjab Haryana, Western Uttar Pradesh, hot and dry local wind 'Loo' blows at this time and the temperature reaches above 45°C in many places. Average temperatures are 49°C in Rajasthan, 38 - 40°C in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh and 27 - 28°C in Maharashtra, Karnataka and Kerala at this time.
