Constitution Framing

  • After the creation of the Constituent Assembly, the first meeting of the Constituent Assembly began on 9 December 1946 in the Central House of Parliament Dr. Sachchidanand Sinha was unanimously elected as the Provisional Chairman.
  • On 11 December 1946, Dr. Rajendra Prasad was elected the permanent Chairman of the Constituent Assembly. In this meeting. Benegal Narasimha Rao (BN Rao) was appointed as the legal advisor.
  • On 13 December 1946, Nehru presented the 'Objective Resolution' in Constituent Assembly and with this, the work of constitution started.
  • From 13 December to 19 December, the 'Objective Resolution' was discussed in the Constituent Assembly and on 22 January 1947, this resolution was unanimously passed.
