Battle of Plassey (June 1757 AD)

  • In one of the decisive wars of India, the English army (led by Clive) participated in the Battle of Plassey (situated on the banks of the Ganges river in Nadia district) and the Nawab's army (led by Mirzafar, Yarlatif Khan and Rai Durlabh). It was took place on 23 June 1757 AD.
  • The loyal soldiers of the Nawab's army, Meermadan and Mohanlal were killed while fighting in the field. Whereas the three deceitful commanders returned to the battle field without firing a single shot.
