Administrative Reforms

  • Alauddin established a new department called Diwan -I - Riyasat to look after the economic affairs of the capital and control the business class.
  • Muhtasib was the protector and caretaker of the public's ethos. He also controlled markets and was an inspector  of scale weights.
  • Alauddin fully organized the intelligence system. The chief officer of this department was Barid-e-Mumalik Under which there were many Burids (Messengers).
  • Alauddin appointed many informers who were caller Munhian or Munhi.
  • The Khalsa regions were ruled by the centre Amir and Shehna handled its rule
