Major Teachings of Jainism

 Five great vows (Panch Mahavrta)

 (i) Nonviolence (Ahinsa) - In order not to cause violence to anyone by mind, speech and deed, ethics were directed for this, such as Irya Samiti, Bhasha Samiti, Akshana Samiti, Adana Niksher samiti and Vyotsarga Samiti.

(ii) Truth (Satya) -  should always be true and sweet. For this:

           I.  Should speak thoughtfully.

           II  Should be calm when angry.

           III  One should remain silent on greed.

           IV  Do not lie in laughter.

          V    Do not speak lie even in fear
