Magadha Dynasty

Magadha, a small state in the sixth century BC, was transformed into a powerful state due to its geographical location and qualified and ambitious rulers.

Reasons for the Rise of Magadha Empire:

     (i) Availability of iron mines.

    (ii) New technology in agriculture.

   (iii) Availability of natural defences.

   (iv) People to be orthodox.

   (v) Availability of wood and coal due to availability of forests.

  (vi) Easy access to the Ganges River and the fertile plains of Ganga valley available.
