Bahaman Kingdom

Alauddin Hasan Bahaman Shah (1347-58):

Also known as Hasan Gangu, he founded the Bahamani kingdom with its capital at Gulbarga. There were fourteen Bahamani Sultans.

  • In the last days of the reign of Muhammed Bin Tughlaq as a result of the revolt of Amir - i - Sadah in the Deccan a Sardar named Zafar Khan ascended the throne in 1347 AD, assuming the title of 'Alauddin Hasan Bahaman Shah' and laid the foundation of the Bahamani empire and made Gulbarga the capital of his empire and named it Ahsanabad. There were fourteen Bahamani Sultans.
