Circumference of Circle

Concept Explanation

Circumference of Circle

Circumference of A Circle: To calculate the circumference of a circle, use the formula large C = pi ;d

  • where "C" is the circumference,
  • "d" is the diameter,
  • large and; pi =3.14 ;or = frac{22}{7}.
  • If you have the radius instead of the diameter, multiply it by 2 to get the diameter. You    can also use the formula for circumference of a circle using radius, which is large C = 2pi ;r.

Example: Find the circumference of the circle with a diameter of 8 inches.

    Solution: C = 3.14 X 8 = 25.163 inch.

Example: Find the circumference of the circle with a radius of 7cm.

    Solution: C = large 2pi r=2times frac{22}{7}times 7=44cm
