Doppler Effect :
This effect was introduced by the Austrian physicist John Doppler in 1842 AD. Accordingly, the frequency of a wave (sound wave or light wave) appears to change due to the speed of the listener or source, that is, when there is a relative motion between the source and the listener appears to be changing. The phenomenon of frequency change seems to be called the Doppler effect. It has the following conditions-
(i) The frequency seems to increase when the distance between source and listener is decreasing due to relative motion.
(i) When the distance between the listener and the source is increasing at a relative speed, the frequency seems to decrease. For sound waves Virtual frequency
