Archaeological Sites of Haryana

Other archaeological sires of the state are as follows:

Chaneti Buddhist Stupa

  • A stupa has been constructed in Chaneti village at a place called Jagadhri in Yamunanagar district of Haryana. This stupa is about 100 m in circumference.
  • Yellow and paved bricks have been used in the onstruction of this stupa. The base of this stupa made of circular shape is wider and the top part is narrower. According to the Chinese traveller Hiuen Tsang. it is a relic of Ashokas stupa.
  • Chor Gumbad

  • This historic dome was built by Afghan Sardar Jamal Khan as his tomb at a place called Narnaul in Mahendragarh district of Haryana.
  • It gives an appearance of a double storeyed structure, but the upper part of the dome is just a verandah. The verandah has twenty gates, which reflect the grandeur of the dome.
  • War Memorial in Ludesar Village

  • A war memorial has been constructed in the village of Ludesar, about 28 km from Sirsa town in Sirsa district.
  • This memorial presents the immortal sage of martyrs who sacrificed their life for the country. At present, the Haryana Government maintains this memorial.
