Dr Sarup Singh was an Indian academic turned politician. He was born on 9th January, 1917. at Sanghi village in Rohtak. He remained a faculty member at Kirori Mal College, Delhi and later became the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Delhi (1971-74). He was member of the Rajya Sabha from Haryana (1978-1984) from Lok Dal Party He was later appointed Governor of Gujarat in December, 1990 and held the position till 1995, he was also a member of UPSC Board, earlier he was the Governor of Kerala. He died in the year 2003.
Om Prakash Jindal popularly, known as OP Jindal, was born in Hisar on 7th August, 1930. He established a successful business enterprise Jindal Steel and Power under the flagship of the Jindal Organisation. In November, 2004, Jindal was awarded with the prestigious 'Life Time Achievement Award' for his outstanding contribution to the Indian Steel Industry by the Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Jindal was appointed Minister of Power in the Government of Haryana He won the Hisar Legislative Assembly seat of Haryana three times consecutively.
She is an Indian politician and the current Minister of External Affairs of India. She is second woman to be India's External Affairs Minister, first being Indira Gandhi. She has been elected seven times as a Member of Parliament and three times as a Member of the Legislative Assembly. She was born at Ambala Cantt in a Brahmin family on 14th February, 1952.
At the age of 25, she became Haryana's youngest Cabinet Minister and in 1998, also served as Chief Minister of Delhi for a short term in the year 1998. In Indian general election, 2014 she won from Vidisha constituency in Madhya Pradesh.
